Indonesia Bali Trip 2015 4D4N - Day 3 Ubud and Kuta Beach

If you have not read the previous days: Day 1 and Day 2

Started off with an early morning again and we were busy preparing our stuffs etc to prepare to go out as our driver was going to fetch us at 10a.m. For the very time keeping me, i went out and sit at the gate to wait for the driver at 9.55 a.m as i do not like to make people wait for me so i rather wait for the person. But best is both sides on time of course. However, our driver got lost and in the end only reached around 10.40a.m but its ok we went on with our journey.

I found our driver through countless research and reviews. He is from this popular tour company call Your Bali Driver (Putu Sudiana) - Private Day Tours. Throughout our whole trip, he was very nice and he brought us to where we want to go. The rate is quite affordable as well, if you are going to Bali and need a private driver, do look for them and contact through email. They reply promptly and will give you a quote per day.

So we went ahead to our first itinerary of the day at Sukawati Art Market. Mr Ketut told us that this place is not a very good place for tourist as they really mark their prices really high. Which was quite scary. We wanted to buy sarong and we went to a few stores who quoted us around 100K IDR (SGD$10- $12) while some was crazy and quoted us 300K IDR. So we did not stay for long and went on to Naughty Nuri's for Lunch at Ubud.

On the way to Naughty Nuri's, i felt a bit car sick because of the road terrain. It was quite bumpy and there was a bit of jam. My motion sickness is the quite severe kind as on almost all kind of transport, i can get a car/train/sea/cable sickness. But all is well when you smell the aroma coming from Naughty Nuri's

Ribs with Lemon - 110K IDR

We each ordered a rack of ribs and it was amazing! Either with lemon or not! I had isotonic drink along with it as i needed my sugar and i already felt really tired when it wasn't even half a day. We sat there for quite long and a couple of older male Caucasians shared the table with us and started talking to us which was quite weird because i personally do not randomly talk to strangers. But they promoted their pizza and massage store so we understood that they were actually ang mors staying in Bali.

Ubud Art Market

We went on ahead to Ubud Art Market after eating and it was another short bumpy ride. It was a really hot afternoon so we were sweating and squinting our eyes when we started venturing around the market. (There is no photos here because we were too fed up with the hot weather).

But in here, i got half of my loot here mostly are the wood crafts. I manage to buy 2 sarongs at 70K IDR, i felt it could go cheaper there but no matter what, 1 sarong for around $4 SGD is very cheap already. The most stupid and unworthy loot i got was 2 wood owls for 150K IDR, felt so cheated and shitty but, because it was our first purchase, i treated it as a lesson for learning how to bargain. At later shops, i manage to get good bargains instead.

We manage to shop quite a while till around 3 - 4 p.m and then because we wanted to see sunset, we went off to a new place. Originally, i wanted to go Uluwatu Single Fin as over there, you can have dinner while enjoying sunset. But it was too far away and we might encounter a lot of jam, so Ketut suggested to go to Kuta Beach instead. So off we go! In the mean time in that 1 hour, i had severe car sick where i must sleep to not feel it.

We arrived at Kuta Beach and started walking down trying to find traditional Henna tattoo. However, we could only find Black Henna which is not safe and there were alot of cases online where the victim received burns or allergies due to the chemicals mixed in the Henna which is usually kerosene or similar contents. If you really want to get them, you could! But, make sure you do not expose the area to sunlight at all! 

We soon find ourselves walking further and further down and to be honest, it is very irritating and uncomfortable for us as the locals will keep following you or asking where are you from. So we decided to find some food and maybe shisha. We found one shop along the road and ordered some fries and a grape shisha. I heard from Lynette that the shisha in Bali is way stronger than the ones in Singapore.

We managed to catch the sunset after eating and found a empty spot on the beach to sit on. We sat slightly further down on the slope of the beach as there were lots of locals at the top asking everyone where they are from, whether they would like to buy stuff or get a surfing lesson when there is not much of a tide!

If you were wondering why i did not film it all the way to the end, the reason is simple. Because a freaking bitch came and stood right in front of my camera trying to sell her stuff. I was so pissed off that i cursed and swear not right at her but after she left.

We then walked back to where our driver parked his car and went back to our place. Similar to Day 2, we ordered pizza again. This time, 1 medium + 1 small and i had a cup noodle too! Was super full but super satisfied!
